We’re looking for a Product Integrity & Operations Lead who is responsible for both Product Integrity(PI) and Non-digital Outbound transportation in our Distribution Centers.

Product Integrity(PI)

You will be responsible for managing a quality assurance service focusing on product integrity with the purpose of protecting the Nike Brand from risk to expose product issues to the marketplace.

You will drive 3rd party logistics(3PL) vendor and internal stakeholders (Merchandising, Market Place Operations (MPO), Logistics, Finance, Demand Supply Management (DSM), Legal) to manage product inspection, metal detection, repairing, and product disposition process to ensure Nike’s high-quality product is served to our valuable customers.

You will team up with the Global Product Integrity team and Geography’s Operations team to escalate product issues detected in our DCs to Nike factories in order to encourage the improvement of the product manufacturing process.

Non-Digital Outbound Transportation

You will be responsible for managing the outbound transportation to supply Nike Direct Stores and Nike Marketplace Partners at Nike’s Logistics Center.

Develop a delivery plan with a full understanding of market demand and Nike’s strategy to build an adequate capacity and service level from short-term to long-term.

Communicate and collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders in order to fulfill reliable and quality services at efficient costs by encouraging outbound carriers, our logistics partners.

Both roles will be based at Distribution Center in Tomisato (Chiba) and also be required to be at Nike's Japan HQ (Tokyo Midtown Tower, Roppongi) according to the situation.


Product Integrity(PI)

  • Drive daily PI operation : Collaborate with 3PL vendor to drive daily quality inspection process and fulfill the requirement to make products available in inventory on time.
  • Manage Product Claim process to take care of product inquiries and claims by Nike Direct Stores and Nike Marketplace Partners accounts.

  • Communication with Nike Stakeholders : Communicate with internal stakeholders to get the agreement of repairing process and product disposition (A, B, C-grade etc.
  • in presence of defective products. Escalate product issues to Global PI and Geography’s Operations team and encourage them to work on corrective action to mitigate another issue in future production.

  • Resolving Urgent Product Issues : Lead 3PL vendor, internal stakeholders, Global PI, and Geography’s Operations team to resolve urgent product issues hugely impacts Nike business by building repairing capability and reviving products to the sellable state.
  • HOLD Inventory Management : Take a lead to make disposition of HOLD inventory in accordance with product defect, working with internal stakeholders and 3PL vendor in our distribution center(DC)s.
  • Cost Management : Involve Logistics and Finance team to arrange payment incurred due to product repair as well as special inspection.
  • Encouraging Kaizen : Drive 3PL vendor to improve daily PI processes and build a new capability to establish more efficient operation gives rise to benefit to Nike DC operation.
  • Non-Digital Outbound Transportation

  • Develop a yearly delivery plan : Gather information from internal stakeholders to fully understand our business forecast.
  • Develop a plan with the outbound carriers by capacity analysis to prepare and build an expansion or improvement actions for achieving our business goal.

  • Drive the daily operation : Collaborate with the outbound carrier, fulfill operational capacity to achieve delivery. Understand the current business trend and order profiles to drive our outbound carrier’s daily operations and performance for Improvement.
  • Communication with Business : Communicate with MPO and other business-related functions to share the delivery status, while obtaining business accounts’ information to share it with the outbound carrier.
  • Identify risks and opportunities to develop an appropriate delivery plan and also a risk mitigation plan, aligned between teams.

  • Cost management : Draw an outbound freight budget with a well understanding of the internal and external environment and control budget vs actual.
  • Understand cost structure to validate each item for procurement.

  • Build a capability for outbound transportation service : Communicate and collaborate with internal stakeholders to build and execute efficient and satisfying services with understanding customer demand.
  • Plan our strategic service level to drive projects to implement.

  • Propose future outbound transportation infrastructure (Including improvement ideas) : In order to achieve on-time delivery at the appropriate cost, develop and propose a solution to improve the process flow through the lens of our customers.

    Product Integrity(PI)

    You will lead a team of 3PL companies that work on the DC operations in the range of Product Integrity. You will build deep working relationships with colleagues in other functions across MPO, DSM, Merchandising, Finance, Legal, Global PI, Geography’s Operations.

    Non-Digital Outbound Transportation

    You will lead a team of outbound carriers that works for Non-digital outbound transportation. You will build deep working relationships with colleagues in other functions across MPO, Finance, Geography’s Operations.

    You will report to DC Operations Manager.WHAT YOU BRING TO NIKE

  • Ability to logically develop a plan and execute it (PDCA).
  • Project management skills.
  • 3PL or Vendor Management Skills.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
  • Logistics experiences (preferred).
  • Business level English and fluency in Japanese.
