The Books Pricing / Promotions team is seeking a motivated self-starter who’s passionate about developing strategy and new initiatives to impact the future of our business in support through process optimization.

The job involves end to end business planning including but not limited to creating execution plans, ensuring operational rigor, designing high business impact processes and identifying automation possibilities that drives process efficiency.

He / she will be the strategic point of contact to business, operations and tech teams of Amazon worldwide and must therefore be comfortable and confident liaising with remote global teams in business and technology at senior leadership levels.

You will own the pricing projects from definition through execution and work cross-functionally with product, finance, vendor management, operations, and tech teams.

  • Monitor and track competitor CX for Promotions and Pricing
  • Work to automate the day-to-day execution, operations, and reporting
  • Kaizen current pricing and promotion processes and plan towards automation.
  • Identify process for finding pricing issues / spikes, and resolves exceptions
  • Work cross functionally with the VMs, TAMs, Marketing, and Tech teams in India, Japan and US
  • Develop and report on key pricing and promotion metrics to Leadership
  • Agree business objectives from various stakeholders and continually align your work with those objectives
  • Analyze and develop solutions for business problems at their root, stepping back to understand the broader context. Document clear, crisp requirements for your initiatives
  • Drive and launch projects to completion and success, partnering effectively with supporting teams
  • Design and evaluate experiments to improve the pricing / points cx and price perception.

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, engineering, math or general business area
  • 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of pricing, accounting, financial, operational, and marketing principles

  • Experience solving complex quantitative business challenges; experience in the development of pricing analysis is a strong plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences
  • Ability to think creatively, deal with ambiguity, and manage changing priorities
  • History of teamwork and willingness to roll up one's sleeves to get the job done
  • Bias for action, and experience making things happen in a fast-paced dynamic environment
  • Strong attention to detail and end-to-end ownership
  • A willingness to dive into technical environments and issues to manage and advocate products and projects
