The Account Manager is responsible for promoting and achieving maximum profitable sales volume of BorgWarner products to assigned accounts.
The planning and control of his / her own selling activities is done with minimal supervision.
Follow activities at the customer and establish and nurture key customer relationships.
Work with other functional areas (i.e. Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance) to obtain engineering data, delivery dates, customer account data, and cost estimates.
Maintain contact with management, the Customers’ Purchasing, Engineering, Production Control, and Receiving / Inspection Departments and obtain feedback pertaining to competitor pricing, products, quality, and delivery.
Maintain a constant awareness of the total industry activity, including the customers and competitors, to assist in maintaining present business levels and developing future business.
May assist other Account Managers and Engineers in the development of business by applying the techniques acquired through extensive experience in the industry.
Analyze and evaluate competitor activity, technical advances, and market potential. Develop short- and long-range market forecasts considering necessary factors to assure adequate market penetration.
