Your knowledge of online media combined with your communication skills and analytical abilities shapes how new and existing business grow.

Using your influencing and relationship-building skills, you provide Google-caliber client service, research and market analysis.

You anticipate how decisions are made, persistently explore and uncover the business needs of Google's key clients and understand how our range of product offerings can grow their business.

Working with them, you set the vision and the strategy for how their advertising can reach thousands of users.

As the Head of Small Business Sales, you will manage the a direct sales team for Small Businesses in Japan's ads business.

You will be responsible for client's marketing success, enabling a team of managers and representatives to reach goals and productivity metrics, and contributing to the global program as the leader of a large market.

You'll engage with and inspire executives of small businesses on how they can transform their business with Google.

In collaboration, we create and implement business plans broadly for all types of businesses.


  • Lead a large team in GCS Japan. Manage multiple sales managers directly, each of whom manages representatives.
  • Structure the business and make decisions on market readiness. Take ownership of delivery goals for the market and drive sales performance to work towards business growth.
  • Build and develop the sales culture. Recruit, retain, and onboard team members, and develop the team.
  • Help team member’s career development. Use coaching as a pervasive and strategic tool to develop team skills and delivery of business results.
  • Collaborate across cross-functional teams and regions to learn and share best practices. Contribute to the global Small Business Sales.
  • Minimum qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with using quantitative and qualitative data for operations, sales analysis, and strategy design.
  • Leadership experience in coaching and managing a sales team and meeting business goals.
  • Preferred qualifications :

  • Experience in leading diverse and large multi-cultural teams.
  • Ability to comfortably work with global cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of digital transformation, and ability to work in a constantly changing environment.
  • Proactive, can-do attitude, follow-through, resourcefulness, attention to detail and demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage people who speak English as a second language.
  • Ability to speak and write in Japanese and English fluently.
