OBJECTIVES / PURPOSE

  • Provides Project Management leadership, expertise, and direction toward the successful execution of a major capital project, with approximate investment of 300 400 OY
  • Accountable for overall project budget, schedule and personnel assigned to the project.
  • Ensure project success to increase capacity at Narita plant thereby serving additional patients in Japan with life savings plasma derived products.

    ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Ensures a safe work environment is maintained through adherence to safety guidelines and policies. Must follow local safety and environmental compliance rules and ensure compliance with Takeda global standards.
  • In depth planning of all project phases up to and including completion of engineering runs and PQ.
  • Ensures project is executed following a structured methodology going through all phases of the Project Management process as defined in GMS-11-ENG.
  • Partner with procurement on the contracting process for all third-party requirements, including bid document preparation, contract review, and vendor recommendation.
  • Build out a detailed project schedule using standard tools and methods
  • Delivers lowest cost capital installation by selecting the best value contracting strategies. Utilize industry knowledge and experience to challenge contractor estimates.
  • Influence design constructability and pull appropriate level of engineering support from Discipline Engineering, Process Control, PSTO, QA, and Manufacturing as needed.

    DIMENSIONS AND ASPECTS

    Technical / Functional (Line) Expertise

  • Must be proficient with Project Management principles and methodologies
  • Understand design, installation, and commissioning of plasma fractionation plant equipment
  • Have a thorough knowledge of facilities engineering systems, using blue prints, equipment manuals, specifications, standard operating procedures
  • Have working knowledge of hazardous chemicals and their disposal, OSHA, EPA, and FDA requirements.
  • Must have very strong verbal and written communication skills, documentation practices, be self-motivated and possess strong interpersonal skills.
  • Must have be results oriented with a high level of energy.

  • EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS :

  • Degree in engineering (Dipl. Ing. / M. Sc. / B. Sc.) or equivalent (mechanical / process / chemical or equivalent)
  • Must be fluent in English and Japanese
  • Experience in capital projects delivery in Japan
  • Broad Leadership experience for the management of internal and external resources in international environment
  • Outstanding Project Management knowledge including successful contract management with ability to deliver safe and fully compliant projects.
  • Well-developed communication skills, able to present to Senior Management
  • Technical experience in a GxP regulated environment
