The Consumer and Device Sales (CDS) organization works with Microsoft’s ecosystem partners to build, market and sell a winning portfolio of devices that delight customers and earns fans around the world.

You will have the opportunity to play a pivotal role in driving growth for Microsoft Japan critical consumer businesses with Surface and PC accessory.

What We Do :

Surface plays three roles for Microsoft : (1) To be the north star & inspire innovation across Windows ecosystem, (2) Deliver the ultimate laptop experience & bring the best of Microsoft to customers, (3) Enable Microsoft to compete vs Apple in the premium space.

We face strong competition, & winning share depends not only on helping customers understand why they need Surface, but also by building fans & product desire so they’ll WANT it.

Our business goal is clear : To Profitably Grow Surface Volume & Share. We accomplish this goal in two ways :

  • Selling To Our Retail Partners : Use consumer insights, market data, store level analysis, and device sales information to evaluate our business performance and develop seasonal, launch & sustain plans to improve our partners business, win share, sell units, and drive revenue / GM.
  • Selling Through Our Retail Partners : Plan and execute thoughtful and impactful through-line-funnel-marketing, focused on driving purchase intent, conversion & post purchase advocacy for Surface devices & accessories.
  • Core Responsibilities :

    Business planning including strategy development, forecasting with deep dive analysis. Collaborating across multiple teams including sales, channel marketing, operations and finance is an essential part of the job.

  • Japan Surface ROB functions, including RHQ review, governance and promo council
  • Budgeting and forecasting with full accountability.
  • Leading cross-functional teams to create, implement, and refine aspects of our business models
  • Partnering across marketing, sales, operations, business groups and others to drive cross-discipline initiatives, including analyzing issues and providing recommendations
  • Driving our overall business strategy and alignment across the broader organization
  • Defining future growth plan with clear logic
  • Establishment of new business scheme and partnership such as MS Complete.

  • Qualifications

    Who We’re Looking For / Qualifications :

  • 5+ years Consumer Electronics / IT ecosystem experience with a focus on devices and services sales.
  • Understanding of consumer sales channels, as well as the retail landscape and digital marketplace
  • Have experience planning and executing marketing strategies and activities that drive business results while remaining true to the brand.
  • Ability to influence multiple stakeholder groups and connect with diverse audiences
  • Be a relentless, proactive driver & communicator who is skilled in getting work effectively & efficiently thru influence of others, working through a large vteam.
  • Has the ability to ensure large vteams are aligned on key details.
  • Be a confident & relentless driver of execution, simplifying details & managing communications for a breath of stakeholders.
  • Very proactive in approach doesn’t need to be told what to do / how to do, but builds plan based on desired outcome and ensures completion.
