As Senior UX Designer on this team, you will be design lead on the full UX design process from discovery and research to concept development, wireframes, and high-
fidelity mocks spanning multiple platforms. You will be working from high-level requirements to define product design flows, interactions, and content strategies in collaboration with business leaders, engineers, product managers, and other UX and visual designers.
The team will look to you to identify opportunities to incorporate best current thinking into product designs while also envisioning and creating new experiences for future features.
To be successful you must be a critical, inventive thinker with clear design chops, an excitement for understanding and using data, and an ability to communicate your ideas effectively.
Being a big music fan would be a big plus.
Key Responsibilities :
Deeply understand Amazon Music customer (both existing and potential) and music streaming market segments as well as stay current on the competitive landscape, emerging product trends, music service innovations, and broader technologies.
Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, high fidelity mockups and detailed UX as well as voice experience and visual design specification for web, mobile web, and app interfaces.
Generate insights on user behavior with the Amazon Music App and other relevant platforms by conducting usability studies, and summarize the insights in concise reports.
Partner with product managers and engineers and collaborate with and present work to a range of stakeholders - executives, business leaders, researchers, UX and visual designers -
to support product launches.
Stay current on emerging UX and digital behavior trends, music and design innovations, and broader technological shifts, as well as identify opportunities to incorporate best current thinking into product designs
7+ years of industry experience driving innovative product design work - as a user experience designer, product design, interaction designer, information architect, design technologist, or similar UX-
related role for web, mobile or emerging platforms
7+ years of experience creating prototypes or highly detailed wire-frames for complex web applications and / or workflows
5+ years of experience working in direct collaboration with product managers, front and back-end engineers, and business or editorial stakeholders
Working experience as UX Designer in Japan managing product design for Japan
A polished online portfolio demonstrating samples of digital work and UX deliverables (end-to-end user-centered design process, visual comps, design system documentation, and / or prototypes) is required to apply for this role
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English (Japanese literacy is preferred)
Lead product designer for large projects that present multidisciplinary challenges and span multiple platforms and departments
Expert in best practices for information architecture and interaction design, user-centered design process, as well as strong knowledge of user experience principles, techniques and patterns
Experienced in integrating qualitative and quantitative data into design work and iterations
Proven ability to present a strategic rationale for design decisions to stakeholders
Excellent oral and written communication skills in Japanese
Experience demonstrating ownership of projects and communicating timelines, executing independently
MFA or Master’s Degree in Graphic Design, Animation, Fine Arts, Cognitive Psychology, HCI, or related field
