DuPont Electronics and Industrial business group has an exciting opportunity for a Technical Sales Manager in the DuPont Electronic Polymers (DEP) business.

The role will be in the DuPont Japan Tokyo Office or from a home office in the Tokyo or surrounding area and will be focused on developing and maintaining strong technical business relationships with key customers who produce photoresists in the Semiconductor value chain in the Asia-Pacific region (mainly Japan and Korea).

DEP is an established organization with core competency in developing and manufacturing electronic grade polymers for lithographic applications in semiconductor chip manufacturing industry.

The Technical Sales Manager role will be responsible for the development and maintenance of business relationships with a strong technical focus.

Key customer contacts will be R&D, manufacturing technology, QA / QC and strategic procurement personnel.

Suitable candidates will have a strong communication and excellent interpersonal skills are required for interacting with customers, DEP’s global R&D and business team members and various manufacturing sites on new and existing products as well as continuous improvement activities.

The role requires strong leadership skills and innovative technical problem-solving capabilities and coordination skills.

Prior experience in businesses related to making or using electronic materials used in photolithography or semiconductor chip manufacturing applications is a plus.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for DEP customers which produce photoresist in Semiconductor value chain in Asia Pacific (mainly Japan and Korea) from technical view of point.
  • Key customer contacts are R&D, manufacturing tech, QA / QC, strategic procurement.

  • Handling and controlling impact of quality issues by working closely with customers, quality team in Dayton, US and Sourcing plants (Dayton, CM in Canada and CM in Japan)
  • Japan CM Quality management support
  • Driving R&D project and Quality improvement program by collaborating with the customers in AP and DEP colleagues (R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, Sales and Marketing) in US and Japan to execute annual and long-term DEP growth strategy.
  • Semi quality trend search through customer interaction

  • JOB SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

  • MS or BS in chemistry (polymer science, material science or chemical engineering)
  • A broad understating of semiconductor industry technical & quality roadmap
  • Chemical materials development, chemical engineering or QA / QC in the semiconductor industry
  • Frequent domestic business travel in Japan and occasional international business travel will be required
  • Candidate must have the ability to work legally in Japan on a permanent basis
  • EXPERIENCE & ATTRIBUTES

  • Ability to use or understand basic statistical tools (Quality data analysis) and understands analytical equipment and capabilities
  • Holding a Six Sigma BB or GB certificate is a Plus.
  • Verbal and written communication skills including technical writing and presenting in English and Japanese (Korean language is a Plus)
  • Self-motivated, Action-oriented, Positive mindset and Team player who cares for others and can help team members
  • Interpersonal and relationship building skills - Ability to manage careful customer communication and help maintain DuPont IP protection
  • PS&R knowledge and experience is a Plus
