Job Description

Reuters is looking for a strong journalist with a track record of breaking news to help lead our Japanese language macro-economic policy team.

The deputy team leader will have a deep understanding of Japanese policy, and help to drive delivery of relevant, market moving stories to our domestic clients.

They will also lead from the front, cultivating policymaker sources and delivering scoops on Japanese fiscal, monetary and banking policies.

You will be :

  • An excellent team player, able to work closely with Japanese and English language reporters and editors
  • Deeply interested in Japanese macro-economic policy
  • You should have :

  • At least 2-3 years of experience covering Japanese economic data and macro-economic policy such as the MOF, BOJ
  • Excellent Japanese writing skills and be at ease communicating in English
  • Experience managing reporters covering the MOF and BOJ
