This Principal role supervises all school activities and is responsible for carrying out the school’s mission and fulfilling its educational objectives.
This role reports to Head of Operations.
The Principal has overall responsibility for ensuring delivery of :
A strategic vision and inspiring leadership across the Shukgawa school.
An excellent learning environment clearly showing a commitment to effective learning opportunities and a learning environment which meets the needs of students, staff and the expectations of parents.
Play an active and effective role in the recruitment and retention of students.
Ensure all budgets are managed correctly.
Enable effective two-way communication throughout the school, ensuring effective sharing of information to staff, students, parents, and the school’s management team.
Ensure the school communicates regularly with parents, informing them of their children’s performance, ensuring an effective partnership with different school communities.
Ensure the school promotes the well-being of the staff to maximize their professional contribution and their sense of satisfaction.
Work with the school’s Management Team to ensure effective implementation and monitoring of the school’s strategic plans.
Appoint staff with the appropriate skills and knowledge and manage their performance through the provision of appropriate induction, training and performance management systems.
Works in collaboration with the Curriculum head in Tokyo to establish and update the best academic curriculum for the students.
Supports and advances international education through promoting the Kindergarten / Pre-school and Primary curriculum that is based on the HAY & IB-curicculum
Carries out established school policies, reviews school policies and make recommendations for changes, and keeps the board informed on all key aspects of the operations.
Contributes to the school’s accreditation processes
Implements and monitors the strategic plans for the school development goals set up by the Head of Operations and management.
Job Requirements :
a highly quantified educational administrator with a minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in a school
strong management and diplomatic skills and a demonstrated ability to lead and to inspire the teachers and staff
desire and open-mindedness in working in a start-up environment with high growth rate
collaborative leadership style; a team builder
the ability to delegate effectively, and the wisdom to determine who needs follow-up supervision and who does not
Native-level language skills in both English and Japanese
Bachelor degree or higher
Better to have) knowledge and experience of international schools, and the international baccalaureate curriculum
Better to have) certification in teaching and / or education

Salary is competitive and will be dependent upon the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
