1. Title :
Certification Manager, Development Project Execution Group
Certification Manager is responsible to facilitate the certification activities of one or more engineering disciplines.It is necessary that all procedures for engineers to acquire TC and to have good start for post TC must be in place, understood by the team, and be subjected to periodical Kaizen for improvement.
Milestones for TC activities must be met, and proactive measures must be proposed and implemented towards the engineering disciplines to meet such goals.
Facilitation of meetings between MITAC (engineering) and Authorities must also be conducted to make sure communication between the two parties flow smoothly without critical misunderstanding.

Director of Development Project Execution Group, Certification Management Office
3. Work Location :
The primary work location will be in Nagoya, Japan. Business trips may be to required sites all over the world (mainly the US and Europe) may be requested, including Seattle, Moses Lake where part of engineering tasks (Seattle) and flight tests (Moses Lake) are performed.
4. Scope of Work :
1) Manage team members to lead resolutions of certification issues and promoting the type certification activities, such as, but not limited to
a) getting authority approvals for Certification Plans, Issue papers, Certification Review Items, compliance documents, etc.
b) coordinating with authorities and internal MITAC to achieve smooth certification testing in Japan as well as in abroad.
c) facilitating communication with certification engineers in the design department and the authorities to keep them in the same direction
2) Support process setting, implementation, promoting, Kaizen of post-TC processes with authorities, such as, but not limited to
a)design change (amendment TC, supplemental TC, major / minor criteria, etc)
b)receipt of initial type certification and foreign validations
3) As general work scope,
a)Operate on consensus with Office leadership, regularly present status and schedule.
b)Implement and manage regular team level progress reporting and metrics necessary to provide status and strategic planning.
c)As member of Certification Management Office, manage relationships with other stakeholders, such as Certification Authorities and engineering teams.
c)10+ years of engineering experience in assigned function, including development programs
d)Previous experience in the certification domain at this level of responsibilities
e)Expertize in global certification requirements and compliance standards, especially 14 CFR Part 21, 25 and associated ACs / AMCs etc.
f)Significant experience interfacing with regulators to support certification agreements
g)Significant experience resolving cross-functional engineering compliance issues
h)Firm understanding of authority & industry roles in rulemaking and compliance
i)Ability to provide a strong voice in support of certification and compliance needs when working with senior engineering and program leadership
j)Ready and excited to work dynamically in a complex and diverse environment
k)Fluent in English
