Interface with Ciena System’s Sales teams to maximize overall Ciena business while driving the growth of the Optical Microsystems module business.
Gather market and competitive intelligence and communicate to the business team.
Drive the Sales Cycle by identifying product opportunities, driving the product sampling and qualification process, coordinating bid proposals, negotiating price and share, providing timely forecasts.
Participate in market trade shows and coordinate customer meetings at the shows.
Identify new product and technology roadmap opportunities for the business.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in technical field, preferred in engineering, optics or physics.
15+ years of component or module direct sales experience within the optical telecommunications and data center market.
Proven track record in technical sales or business development to Network Equipment Manufacturers and optical module manufacturers.
Proven success and strong track record winning component hardware sales.
Prefer experience utilizing Salesforce for opportunity tracking and reporting.
Strong knowledge of optical communications systems and its ecosystem of suppliers and customers.
Highly effective communication skills (verbal and written) when interacting with both technical and non-technical customers
A relationship builder at all customer levels
Self-starter, capable or owning’ areas of responsibility and involving senior management for necessary issues.
Strong team building and resource coordination skills to successfully meet key objectives.
Requires 50% US and Canada travel
