Your Career

As a Palo Alto Networks Data Center and Virtualization Consulting Engineer you will be responsible for demonstrating and designing Palo Alto Networks solutions in the Japan Theater with an emphasis on Software Defined Networks (SDN) and virtualization technologies and their integration with Palo Alto Networks solutions.

If you have prior experience selling virtualization solutions and integrating them with network infrastructure based security appliances including but not limited to : Firewalls, SSL / IPSec VPNs, Security Proxies and Caches.

If you also have practical experience working with routing and switching products that will be installed adjacent to the Palo Alto Networks appliances as well as High Availability architectures.

Knowledge of VMware, NSX, SDN, VXLAN / EVPN, ACI and OpenStack, Container and automation or orchestration tools. We want you to speak with you!

Your Impact

  • Responsible for customer satisfaction and to follow up with customers for feedback and resolution of issues
  • Provide feedback to the Product Management team on new feature requests and product enhancements from your customer base
  • Be an essential team lead for Palo Alto Networks virtualization and data center technologies which will include training the field SEs on the latest features and technologies.
  • Extensive travel within the Japan Theater is a requirement

  • Responsible for presenting the Palo Alto Networks Next-Generation Firewall and Virtualization solutions to prospective customers, creating and delivering demonstrations of the products, gathering customer technical requirements, creating evaluation test plans with customers, and then managing the evaluation process to a successful conclusion
  • You are the go to resource for customer interactions that exceed standard Systems Engineering support requirements (we always expect a baseline expertise in all areas from our SE’s, but augment them with CE’s in the advanced or new technology areas)
  • Your Experience

  • BSCS or equivalent and 8+ years of experience as a SE or Systems Integrator
  • Deep virtualization and SDN experience including design, configuration, and orchestration technology.
  • VCP 5 or greater including experience with NSX or other SDN platforms
  • Demonstrable experience with systems installation, configuration, and administration of routers / switches, UNIX / Linux and Windows-
  • based systems (prior Active Directory / LDAP experience desirable)

  • Experience that emphasizes L2-L4 Networking (L2 Switching architectures including Spanning Tree, IP routing including OSPF and BGP, L4 Load balancing)
  • Experience selling, demonstrating, installing, doing PoC and troubleshooting network infrastructure security products
  • Self-motivated
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) both in English and Japanese
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, both internally and externally
  • Strong problem finding and solving skills, ability to analyze complex multivariate problems and use a systematic approach to gain quick resolution, often under duress
  • Super organizational skills
  • Whatever it takes' attitude and motivation to do whatever necessary to assist in closing a deal

  • Able to do enablement, coaching, and training for internal, external and customers
  • Prior startup experience being one of the first SEs into an organization
  • Experience from companies in the enterprise networking security space with Channel partners and understanding of a channel centric go to market approach preferred
  • Experience working with High-Touch Sales or working as High-Touch Sales SE, working with customers directly
  • Experience from companies in the enterprise networking Datacenter / WAN / LAN of enterprise security space
  • Experience of IaaS and SaaS deployment
  • Experience installing and configuring a virtual environment
  • Experience understanding exploits, malware, ransomware, etc their creation and activation
