We are looking for an experienced Strategic Marketing Manager to develop our Japan marketing strategy and execute strategic initiatives.
The position will be an integral part of our marketing team and is expected to closely work with Commercial Marketing team, other functions in the country, and global / regional team to accelerate our commercial efforts.
To be successful as Strategic Marketing Manager, you should be a strategic planner with strong problem solving and execution skills.
In addition, Strategic Marketing Manager needs to have a good communications skill to be effective in the multi-national and cross-functional environment.
Essential Job Functions
Develop commercial strategy and define action plans working closely with Commercial Marketing team. Integrate marketing strategy and execution in terms of customer, product, channel, pricing and other key marketing elements.
Drive execution of strategic initiatives while securing alignment with global and regional strategies.
Refine existing commercial strategy and marketing action development process.
Lead or support projects. Main focus are strategy development and process optimization projects (e.g. KPI and scorecards development) with internal stakeholders.
However, projects may include those requiring interactions with customers and external partners.
Perform detailed analysis and routine reporting of regional revenue.
Analyze the market and competitive intelligence and share insights.
Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of commercial services, business development, pricing, channel management methods, costs, and results vis-à-vis the operating plans.
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or economics. MBA is preferred. MSc in life science, chemistry or related science field is a plus.
Consulting background is preferred.
At least 5-9 years, ideally 10+ years of experience in strategy development, project management, or other related fields.
Experience in marketing, product management, or sales is a plus but not mandatory.
Experience of working within or interacting with matrix organizations, networking across multiple functional teams, and at all levels.
Language : Japanese (native or fluent), English (native or fluent), both in written and verbal communications.
