This role primarily supports APAC marketing director to drive the business growth of Labcorp Drug Development in Japan, secondarily provide support to the broader marketing initiatives in Asia-Pacific region.
The Marketing Manager develops in-country marketing strategy and positioning message and implements marketing campaigns aligned with the strategy and messaging with specified initiatives across the organization.
This includes working cross-functionally to effectively drive awareness of key differentiation attributes within Japan market via omni-channel campaigns and track subsequent metrics.
The successful candidate is proactive and creative, and is able to negotiate, influence and meet aggressive deadlines with a variety of stakeholders.
In addition to multi-channel campaigns, the Marketing Manager also develops sales tools in conjunction with marketing, sales and regional leadership, to be used by sales to execute key positioning strategies to promote the brand and enhance relationships with our customers and help increase the win rate.
Develop, recommend and deploy marketing plan and strategy to drive business growth in Japan with an explicit marketing campaign calendar (with content and publishing strategies to deliver upon those goals)
Partner with business stakeholders to understand and define the market strategy, key initiatives, clear messaging, and conduct assessments to close the gap
Collaborate with the sales team on key focused customer initiatives / presentations that align with brand and segment strategies that enhance relationships with customers and drive / strengthen the value proposition.
Partner with insight team to map out the competitive landscape with key metrics, monitor trends / competition, collect VOC, and provide up-to-date market dynamics.
Create and execute campaign (content and publishing) launch plans that bring a segment-focused spotlight across Japan and spill over to the APAC region, including business units, service lines and therapeutic areas.
Understand customer insights and be able to apply within campaign strategies
Understand key campaign metrics and analyze information to track success and proactively make recommendations to optimize campaign performance.
Edit local language content for service line collateral, presentations, websites and other customer communications.
Identify and Leverage effective social media, paid media, paid search and similar platforms / channels to drive brand recognition, awareness of Labcorp capabilities and brand differentiation, and to generate qualified leads.
Master channel usage and proactively explore new channel options with local market proficiency.
Partner with global PR to generate opportunities to enhance brand social impact in Japan.
Effectively explore, onboard and manage agency partners (event partner, translation partner, PR partner, etc..) and provide them clear direction using creative briefs.
Schedule flexibility to occasionally accommodate meetings / commitments in other time zones (outside of core business hours)
Work across organizational structures gracefully, including the marketing team, sales and operations in decision making.
A minimum of a BA / BS; MBA degree a plus
5+ years prior work experience in marketing, preferably in healthcare or pharma
Excellent written, project management, presentation and oral communication skills
Must be a self-motivator willing / able to influence events and people to achieve goals
Demonstrated teamwork, communication (written and verbal), and organizational skills

Demonstrated digital marketing (particularly social media) and content strategy experience, including omni-channel marketing experience.

Experience with vendor oversight / management.
History of data-driven decision making and the ability to analyze reporting to measure and optimize campaign performance
Demonstrated skill in message development and channel execution.
Proficient understanding of scientific principles.
Technical / scientific editing skills.
Working knowledge of Marketing Automation platforms and CRMs.
