We’re currently looking for Consultant, Research Analytics, Japan
The primary role of a consultant in Research Analytics, is to design, manage and execute research and consulting projects and to deliver customers with critical and effective information based on Clarivate’s strong scientific Data Bases (DBs) and expertise.
This open position’s responsibility is to mainly deliver Scientific and Academic Research solutions to Government, University and Corporate whose key activities are tied with research and technology development.
Our consulting projects include Evaluation of research and development initiative , Science and technology trend scanning for strategy making , Clarification of strength and weakness and Advisory services for fostering research and innovation .
These projects are differentiated by our DBs and deep expertise of data analysis. Responsibilities of this position include all-
aspects of project delivery ranging from pre / post-sales presentation and data analysis to marketing and thought leadership activities.
Role Responsibilities :
Reporting to the Manager, Research Analytics , you will be responsible for the following :
Cover Clarivate’s customers mainly in Government, University and Corporate whose key activities are tied with research and technology development, offering mainly Scientific and Academic Research solutions.
Understand customers’ pain points and needs from the view point of research and innovation system of various layers ranging from national or institutional level to small group or project level.
Find and develop the best-fit solution by fully utilizing Clarivate’s unique DBs and professional service capabilities, integrating them, and then develop an attractive, efficient and strong proposal.
Be in charge of conducting analytical works by using big data extracted from Clarivate’s DBs and creating deliverables, add own insights him / herself to the result of data analytics.
Manage, lead and execute projects, delivering the best results to the customer within the set deadlines and budget by exercising leadership to project members and driving them.
Conduct data intense analytical works and extract insights from the result of data analytics, compose report or create deliverables and then make strong presentations to customers.
Very keen to stay updated with changes in market trends including national governmental initiatives, international practices of research funding and scientific and technological breakthrough, so that a consultant can grasp issues surrounding our customers and lead discussions with customers accordingly.
Work closely with SAR product marketing team, which is a fellow team of Research Analytics specialized in marketing, presales and product enhancement of Scientific and Academic Research DBs and solutions to deliver highly optimized solutions.
Occasionally work with global fellow professionals to leverage global Clarivate resources to better design and deliver projects to customers in Japan.
Professionally represent the company at all times and better enhance relationships with the existing customers and build up profitable relationships with new customers.
Be innovative in developing new solutions and finding critical area of enhancement of Clarivate’s DBs, leveraging strong relationship with customer and incorporating latest advancement of analytics and technologies.
A successful candidate should have following qualifications :
3 years experiences in business, consulting, sales, marketing or R&D and have experienced following thingswriting a proposalstructuring customer needsformulating business / marketing / R&D strategylogical thinking and data analysistelling a story with the data
Bachelors’ degree or higher in science or technology related field.
Good communication / customer facing skills and presentation skills.
Customer and service oriented professional individual with a passion in creating solutions dedicated to solve customers’ pain points.
Data analytical skills with excitement on incorporating latest trend of analytics and technology to stimulate customer interests
Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
Good team player / self-starter with an ability to work using own initiatives.
Comfortable and adaptable / flexible to the fast paced working environment with time restraints.
Nice to have :
Master’s or Doctor’s degree in science or technology.
Experience of text analysis and data mining.
Data handling and analytical skills with some languages such as R, Python, Java, SQL, etc.
Experience in primary / secondary research such as market / web search or interview.
Business use proficiency in English.
Knowledge of VBA and / or Excel macro.
