CUSTOMER DEVELOPMENT REPRESENTATIVE

Your efforts directly contribute to Fastly’s top-line revenue growth. As a Customer Development Representative, you are responsible for uncovering, sourcing, educating, nurturing and developing sales leads into qualified opportunities from key accounts that will close and add to Fastly’s growing customer base.

You are focused on identifying opportunities and building relationships with prospects at the Enterprise level and leveraging your experience to make an impact.

The ideal candidate has a proven track record of exceeding sales quota and metrics, loves the thrill of the hunt, and is capable of building and growing the pipeline of the business.

They also have experience navigating through organizations, doing deep discovery and speaking to multiple decision makers.

What you'll do :

  • Consistently exceed monthly, quarterly and annual sales quota and be well-compensated for doing so.
  • Drive Fastly’s growth through outbound prospecting efforts, generating high quality sales opportunities that will turn into opportunities and closed business.
  • Educate and develop leads through outbound prospecting via phone calls, emails, social media.
  • Prospect into an Enterprise target account list ranging from the Global 5000 to Fast growing tech organizations; forming relationships with First Line Developers to C-Level executives.
  • Be tenacious. Conduct value add follow-up calls and emails until meetings are set.
  • Develop and maintain territory and daily plans to maximize and leverage phone time, including pre-call planning, adhering to territory hours and metrics, and customizing scripts to market segments and prospect type.
  • Work with Fastly Sales Representatives to meet or exceed assigned Fastly opportunity, pipeline and bookings goals.
  • Use Salesforce.com to track activity and update account / contact information.
  • Leverage LinkedIn and any other media that could generate leads.

  • Understand their customers’ industry / business / needs (key to both building trust with customers as well as understanding how to help solve their problems).

  • Have a desire to work hard, exceed expectations and outperform their quotas.
  • At a minimum what we’re looking for :

  • Professional working proficiency with Japanese language
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3+ years of full-time corporate sales experience (software sales is a plus).
  • Proven track record of exceeding measurable goals / quotas.
  • Consistent and proven track record of success prospecting for new business.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage territory and execute outbound prospecting strategies.
  • Understands customer requirements and identify business challenges that Fastly can solve.
  • Consistently and repeatedly pick up the phone and call your customers.
  • Not afraid to ask questions until a thorough understanding is achieved.
  • Intellectually curious with a keen interest in customers and technology.
  • Adaptable, professional, courteous, motivated with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to proactively resolve problems in a timely manner; develop alternative solutions.
