We are seeking a Consulting Sales Manager , Life Sciences Japan Commercial Sales & Services. Consulting Sales Manager is rewarded for meeting and exceeding goals in the following three areas : client service quality, production of financial results, and contributions to the long-

term growth of the Life Sciences Japan business.

Role Summary

Consulting Sales Manager is responsible to develop and execute sales strategy in the Japan Life Sciences market, delivering the optimized consulting services with the Clarivate Life Sciences solution / products to achieve maximum sales revenue, growth and account penetration.

The target market is the life sciences industry including but not limited to pharmaceutical / medical devices / CRO, etc.

Role Responsibilities :

The key responsibilities and duties :

Lead the consulting opportunities and serve as the expert for innovative sales plans and will contribute to the strategy and day to day sales activities closely working with the solutions / consulting and other sales managers.

Creating, cultivating and progressing the sales pipeline. Ensure movement of accounts in pipeline to opportunity and then to close both with existing clients and new business opportunity.

Design and implement both short and long-term sales strategies for driving new business. Develop clear and effective written proposals and quotation for the clients.

Proactively working with the global consulting practice leads and local consulting team and develop the new consulting offering / program to increase the up-

sell / new business opportunity. Provides accurate and timely sales and account management reports, forecasts, expense reports, customer evaluation reports or any other reports requested by management.

Communicate and exchange information with peers globally, for the purpose of sharing activities in the region as well as to learn good practices happening around the world.

Ensures all business dealings are handled professionally and ethically in accordance to established and accepted business practices.

Provides feedback and market requirements to strategic business units to drive product innovation and improved market competitiveness.

Attend trade shows, exhibits, seminar and other events if there is possibility of finding prospects. Gaining and maintaining sufficient knowledge of our product suite, special sales programs and marketing efforts within the sales division.

Keep abreast of the competition, our competitive advantage, general changes to the industry to help facilitate successful consultative selling and presentation of our value proposition and products.

Qualifications : Must have :

Must have :

  • 5+ years of work experience as a consultant services sales professional. Experience with big four companies is a plus.
  • A seasoned and highly successful consulting sales professional with verifiable track record of success working in the product / solutions owning global organization.
  • Strong client engagement / expectation management.
  • Creating, cultivating and progressing the sales pipeline. Ensure movement of accounts in pipeline to opportunity and then to close both with existing clients and new business opportunity.
  • Experience in developing the new consulting offering / program working with the global consulting practice leads and local consulting team.
  • Excellent proposal writing and report writing skills.
  • Manage pipeline effectively and apply necessary mitigation plan timely manner to secure the opportunity with right level of decision makers within the prospective organization.
  • Able to use necessary sales management tools (Example : Salesforce) and follow the company’s process.
  • Strong presentation, task management, priority management, and client / stakeholder management with right opportunity qualifying skill.
  • Native level in Japanese and fluent in English (speaking, listening, writing, and reading).
  • Excellent communication and strong negotiating skills.
  • Demonstrate leadership and team playing abilities.
  • Experience working in the global environment.
  • Understand strategic direction set by senior management as it related to team goals.
  • Use considerable judgement to determine solution and seeks guidance on complex problems.
  • Nice to have :

  • Working in the Life Sciences industry (pharmaceutical / medical devices / CRO, etc.).
  • Post-graduate / masters’ degree
