Position Summary :
As the Strategic Accounts Manager, Informatics, you will be responsible and project manage the strategy, communication and enablement of software / information solutions for large and strategic projects (such as initiatives at a national level) within Japan, working with cross functional teams to ensure that Illumina can maximize value out of these initiatives, with an emphasis on placing, promoting, selling and driving informatics as a strategic proposition.
Position Responsibilities :
Manage the informatics strategy, communication and enablement of large-scale initiatives in Japan, ensuring Illumina approach these in a consistent and efficient way
Act as the Project Manager that manages and coordinates that provision of informatics solutions, from product position, requirements gathering, solution creation, trial / POC, implementation and ongoing customer success
Develop high-value, long-term profitable customer accounts through relationship building and partnership
Develop strong relationships with key Informatics stakeholders
Work closely with regional and global cross functional teams including but not limited to commercial (sales / support / operations), regional and product marketing, market development, business development, product development
Responsible for strategic deployment, technical sales and market awareness for Illumina Connected Analytics in large and strategic accounts, service providers and new business within Japan
Expanded direct customer engagement during Instrument, reagent and bioinformatic sales cycle
Communicate the needs of large-scale initiatives in Japan from both internal and customer requirements providing a channel to product marketing and R&D

Position Requirements :
Excellent understanding of bioinformatics / genomics, sequence analysis or related disciplines.
Demonstrated experience in managing projects, functions, resources and / or teams
Experience with common software toolkits for Next Generation Sequencing analysis and demonstrated understanding of commonly-used informatics tools and programs, especially in large scale genomics
Prior experience with developing key relationships with important customers and suppliers
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within and outside of Japan
Outstanding problem solving and interpersonal skills.
Experience in forming deep customer relationships
Demonstrated superior problem solving and interpersonal skills in a customer facing environment
Clear vision of and commitment to providing outstanding customer service

Preferred Experience / Education / Skills :
Bachelors / Masters or higher in a relevant field
5+ years experience with sales / marketing or business development for Enterprise Software sales in the life sciences preferred
Biotech and / or Next Generation Sequencing experience preferred
Experience in direct sales role desirable but not essential
Demonstrated written and verbal communication and training skills with strong English written and oral preferred
