Contributor Relations Manager & Senior Sales Representative- Tokyo or Hong Kong Based
Visible Alpha is looking for a senior, entrepreneurial and new business professional with experience working with Japanese-based buy-side and sell-side institutions.
The candidate would be interested in capitalizing on a relatively new, green-field opportunity selling the Visible Alpha platform to Hedge Funds and Institutional Asset Managers, as well as securing distribution rights and managing relationships with investment banks & independent research providers.
Responsibilities :
Grow Visible Alpha’s Japan market presence - take initiative in determining areas of focus and path towards growth;
Generate new business revenue by selling the Visible Alpha product to buy-side clients;
Network and build relationships with the investment industry (asset managers and investment banks);
Engage with key stakeholders including Directors of Research, Heads of Operations, Heads of Sales & Analysts at research providers and analysts and portfolio managers at buy-side institutions;
Pitch the value proposition across the Visible Alpha product suite to secure distribution rights for analyst models, written research & events data;
Manage all aspects of the relationship with research contributors from initial cold calling, pitching through contractual negotiations & contract execution, with on-going relationship management post-contract signature;
Collaborate with marketing, customer service, onboarding and product management;
Transform initiatives into thoughtful solutions that can be presented to the Commercial leadership team.
Requirements :
Solid working knowledge of financial market data with 10+ years experience in financial services;
Deep understanding of buy-side investment process and sell-side / buy-side relationships;
Fluency in written and spoken Japanese & English;
Strong interpersonal skills;
Sales (cold-calling, pitching) experience is key;
Experience in data & analytical products / solutions focused on equity capital markets required - experience with data & analytics used in the equity research process a plus;
Must be a self-starter, with a driven and positive attitude, with the ability to work as part of a team & on one’s own;
Goal-driven, with the ability to meet internal & external deadlines;
Bachelor’s degree required, further higher education a plus;
