Over the past 12 months, our medicines and therapies have treated over 63, patients living with cancer in Japan. The Hematology Medical Franchise Head will represent Japan at global therapy area forums and provide medical leadership in cross-functional teams to support integrated disease area plans and drive execution of country Medical Affairs activities.
Your key responsibilities :
Lead country Medical Franchise Therapy Area medical team and represent Japan at global Therapy area forums.
Provide medical leadership in cross-functional teams to support integrated disease area plans and drive execution of country Medical Affairs activities.
Drive Medical Franchise team to achieve excellence in scientific knowledge, strategic thinking, business acumen, integrated evidence generation, tactical planning and medical leadership
Develops and coaches Japan talents for local (NPKK), regional and global roles
Drives the scientific / Medical Affairs strategy in Japan for in-line compounds along with the clinical development programs, pre-launch stage and the lifecycle management
Co-chairs the Disease Area Franchise Board (Japan FLT) according to the Japan governance and is an active member of the Global Franchise Leadership Team board
Creates a highly influential Japan medical and scientific based platform through relationship with Japanese Medical Experts, publication plan, conference participation, medical education and communication initiatives
Lead medical franchise team to generate clinical evidence reflecting the unmet medical needs and the current and future reimbursement environment to ensure access.
To be the key interface for major internal and external customers and key stakeholders engagement : Patients and Patient Advocacy, Medical Experts, Investigators, Academic Institutions, Oncology Societies and Regulatory bodies
Functions as key interface for the portfolio responsibility to Global Medical Affairs, Global Drug Development, Translational Clinical Oncology and Precision Medicine, ensuring alignment with the Global strategy and representation of the Japan needs.
Is accountable for the integrated Medical Affairs plan per disease area, developed across franchise portfolio, including priorities and objectives in alignment with the Global strategy
Ensures that perspectives on Medical Real World Evidence (Health Economics and Health and Patient outcomes) are integrated early enough into Integrated Evidence Plan and Development / Medical Affairs strategy, country and Global level
What you’ll bring to the role :
MD / PhD; Oncology / Hematology experience
Fluent language proficiency in both Japanese and English
Extensive experience in a leadership role in the pharmaceutical industry with previous role managing people. Team player- contributes beyond Therapeutic area and Medical leadership team, cross-functional teams locally / globally
Superior leadership skills, including demonstrated ability to effectively lead and coach scientific / medical professionals, business colleagues, at all skills and knowledge levels
Superior interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
People Management experience, strategic insights, skills to work in a competitive environment
External customer focus with strong networking capabilities and integration into the Onc / Hem medical community
Deep understanding of drug development, approval and profiling processes, including experience designing and executing clinical studies.
Excellent understanding of Japan regulatory standards and processes, as well as relevant ethical and legal guidelines
Desirable requirements :
Scientific / medical research experience in Oncology / Hematology with a demonstrated record of scientific / medical publication desirable in the specific area
Past roles in Clinical development functions with knowledge of Protocol writing, data review and analysis and safety handling are highly desirable
